  Staying at Crabtree Road

Mrs Pancic & patients

Mrs Pancic is leaving our practice and while we will be sorry to see her go and that some of her patients may wish to follow her to Langley Green, those that wish to stay at Crabtree Road for whatever reason, you will be very welcome, and we will be delighted to look after you in the future.
If you do wish to stay then please inform Arlene on reception and let us know your preferred choice of dentist. We promise to be as discreet as possible.

Whitening and polishing

Over the last few years many patients have approached the practice enquiring about whiter teeth. Many options are available some of which require invasive procedures such as replacement of old metal fillings with direct or indirect white restorations, the provision of porcelain veneers to the front of existing teeth, the crowning of teeth or even the dramatics of tooth removal and denture provision.

Now there is an alternative. Tooth whitening. This may not be suitable for everybody but no drilling is required and the procedure is complelety painless, although in some instances teeth may become a little more sensitive for a while.
In this practice we usually advise patients to whiten their teeth by providing patients with custom made trays and whitening kits that they can take away and do at home coneniently and at their own pace. The results can be quite dramatic. We have recently reviewed the cost of this treatment and it has now been reduced to £200.00 for the inital trays and 10 tubes of gel. Extra tubes of gel can be purchased form the practice at any time.

All whitening systems appear to work best on yellow teeth and are less effective on teeth in the grey spectrum.

At your first visit we will discuss the possible options with you and take the existing shade of your teeth. We will also take some impressions of your teeth so that we can make special custon trays to hold the bleaching material around yout teeth.
At your second visit we will recheck the tooth shade, give you your custom trays and provide you with verbal and written instructions on how to carry out tooth whitening.
Yellow teeth generally bleach better than grey teeth but most teeth will usually improve to some extent.
After a few weeks we will bring you back to the surgery to see how you are getting on. If necessary we will provide you with more whitening gel.

If you have a large number of fillings or restoration present in teeth that you wish whitened, these unfortunately will not be affected by the bleaching process. In many cases these restorations may need replacement to match them to the new colour of your teeth. As previously mentioned, occasionally some sensitivity may occur. To overcome this we will advise you at the time of your visit. If you think that whitening may be the answer why not come along for a free consultation at your next examination appointment. Whitening of teeth costs from £200.00
