The Practice

The practice has been established since 1952 and under the present ownership of Mike Powell since he purchased it in 1977. In 2004 Mrs Pancic purchased a share of the goodwill from Mike Powell which Mike is allowing her to move to Langley Green.
Our practice is close to the West Green shopping parade and Crawley Hospital on well established bus routes. Sainsbury's, B&Q are close by and there are easy links to the M23 via Crawley Avenue. The practice has a small car park and there is restricted local on-street parking immediately outside the practice for about 6 cars. Time in these bays is limited to two hours. If all these are full then call into the practice for a parking voucher for one of the other bays in the road.Please park as neatly as possible. Michael A.Powell BDS

Mike Powell is the principal dentist and owner of the practice. He was an Dental Adviser to the West Sussex Primary Care Trust, and continues to be a Denplan Adviser and a Clinical Audit Facilitator. He qualified from Manchester in 1970 and has continued his career in dentistry in Crawley since that date. Mike is once again, after a thirty year gap a keen golfer and he also enjoys walking, skiing and motorhoming.

Our Associates

David Armstrong has been our associate since September of 2010 and has proved to be a very valuable member of our team. Now that Mrs Pancic is leaving we will be able to offer him a full time position. David will be taking a short sabbatical during the spring before he joins us full time at Crabtree Road.
Kellie Boles BDS will be joining us in April and will be working full time once Mrs Pancic has moved out. I am sure that you will admire Kellie and David's gentle approach. Kellie has worked for the last few years in Glasgow and is joining us as her family will eventually move South from Dunblane to Surrey. Kellie has also taken courses in oral surgery and is experienced in facial aesthetics. More information about facial aesthetics will be available closer to her joining date.

Our Hygienists

Our three dental hygienists are available at the practice. Kim Hart, Dianne Weeding and Diane Paton. They are all have a wealth of experience and carry out a large part of our preventive programme at the practice ensuring that mouths remain clean and healthy.
As Mrs Pancic has decided that she no longer requires a hygienist at the practice from January 1st, we are hoping that our patients will now find it much easier to book an appointment with them. All our hygienists are staying at the practice. Mike Powell has used the services of hygienists for over 20 years and has found that during that time the number of patients requiring extensive clinical interventions has been substantially reduced both from a caries (decay) and a periodontal (gum) point of view. Apart from scaling and polishing they can also advise on diet, oral hygiene products and assist in the management of gum disease.
We now have AIR POLISHERS which you will see advertised in the waiting room, a gentle way of removing heavy tooth staining. This treatment will normally be offered to those requiring it at their normal hygiene appointments but if you would like to take advantage earlier please phone to book an appointment with one of the hygienists.
Our hygienists are available on Mondays, Tuesdays Wenesdays and Fridays. Diane Paton is also a qualified dental therapist. All of our hygienists work at other practices in Crawley Down, East Grinstead and Haywards Heath.
Our Denplan patients are always offered two hygienist visits a year.

Kellie Boles BDS

We are very pleased to announce that Kellie will be joining our team in April 2012. Kellie qualified from Glasgow University in 2009 winning the Charles Mills Donoghue prize in Conservative Dentistry and the William Hunter Medal in Prosthodontics. Kellie is currently working as an associate in the Clyde Dental Practice in Glasgow and has had experience in the treatment of anxious children. She has experience of inhalation and intravenous sedation techniques. Kellie is keen on expanding the practice by providing both more extensive hours and possibly opening on Saturday mornings. I am sure that she will prove very popular with our patients and we look forward to welcoming her.
