Crabtreecare Practice
Our dental practice has been established in West Green under the current ownership of Mike Powell for over thirty four years and now provides dental and hygienists services to many people throughout the year.
Unfortunately, while we are able to accommodate wheelchairs, with some difficulty, we do not have any disabled facilities due to the constraints of the building. A disabled clinical audit has been carried out and certain measures have been taken to assist the disabled.
Do you need a check up
We know as well as anyone that your smile is one of your most noticeable and memorable features. That is why the whole dental team at the practice work hard to provide you and other patients with the very best dental healthcare. If you have any concerns about your dental health or the appearance of your teeth please let us know.
We are able to provide most forms of cosmetic dentistry including tooth whitening. Please note that we will never pressurise you into having treatment that you do not wish for or cannot afford. You as the patient must always have the final decision.
When planning your treatment we will always try to offer you a selction of alternatives so that you are able to make an informed choice.
We normally recommend a check up according to NICE guidelines but you should visit us soon if you have:
1. Bleeding or sore gums.
2. Bad breath
3. Broken or chipped teeth
4. You are unhappy with your smile
5. You have loose or mobile teeth
6. You grind your teeth excessively
7. You have unusual bumps or lumps.
8. You have sensitive teeth.

Children and young adults
Mike Powell currently hold a personal dental contract with the Sussex Primary Care Trust. We believe that prevention is better than cure and to this end we encourage children to attend at a very ealy age with their parents and siblings. All children and young adults at Crabtree Road are treated under NHS arrangemnents and Mike Powell has extended this to all patients in full time education. Generally children and those under 19 in full time education will not have to pay for NHS treatment. After the 19th birthday NHS charges will apply. With very young children it may take some time to coax them into accepting dental treatment or even to get a look in their mouths but by attending regularly they will hopefully soon become use to the surroundings (and strange smells)and will have no fear of dentistry.
Nearly all dental problems can be prevented but young children are especially vulnerable so start them young! We will register your children with us soon after birth and give you any advice required. We are very keen that best practice guidelines are adhered to throughout the practice and we will try to adopt those guidelines whether you are a Denplan, private or an NHS patient.
